Meet our Team!
Abby Thomason, LSCSW, RPT
I’m Abby Thomason! I am the founder and owner of Early Emotions, a clinically licensed therapist in KS and MO (LCSW/LSCSW) and registered play therapist with nearly a decade of experience focused on children in early childhood and the people that care for them. I am also a mom of two littles of my own.
I specialize in early childhood play therapy, addressing concerns such as anxiety, divorce/life changes, and trauma. I also utilize Child-Parent Relationship Therapy to help parents feel confident in supporting their child’s needs, while nurturing the parent-child relationship.
Katelin Saunders, LMSW, ECSE
Mom of four tiny humans, fueled by coffee and a passion for early childhood development. I’m a licensed master’s level early childhood special education teacher and social worker, specializing in supporting children birth to age five and the grown-ups who love them. For the past 11 years, I’ve worked in homes, daycares, schools, and community settings — where real life happens.
I specialize in developmental delays, autism, behavior, big feelings, and the chaos of raising littles. I coach caregivers on everything from co-regulation and attachment to understanding what’s typical (and what’s not), so you can feel confident supporting your child — without losing your mind in the process.
Nina Baleta, LMSW
Hi, I’m Nina! With more than 10 years of experience supporting young children and their families, I’ve found that early childhood development is my passion. As a mom of three, I personally understand the emotions, challenges, and joy that come with raising little ones.
I am trained in AutPlay and DIR/Floortime approaches which allow me to focus on playful, child-led interaction to support regulation, communication, and emotional growth. Children on the autism spectrum hold a special place in my heart, and I honor each child’s way of communicating, learning, and experiencing the world. My goal is to support caregivers and children in building strong, connected relationships, while helping families feel confident and supported along the way.
